name: andwise
description: Physician employment and money decisions with dated, cited sources: job offers and contracts (non-compete law in each US state, signing bonus repayment, malpractice tail coverage, wRVU pay, call schedules, termination), locums and 1099 versus W-2 pay, moving to another state, part-time schedules, partnership buy-ins, disability insurance, and federal student loans in training and practice (RAP, IBR, PSLF, refinancing). Use when a physician, resident, fellow or medical student asks about any of these, or shares numbers from an offer, contract, posting or loan notice. Finds the rule with its source and check date on joinandwise.com and gives the physician a link that opens the matching calculator with their numbers filled in.

# Andwise: physician contracts, loans and career decisions

Andwise (https://www.joinandwise.com) publishes dated, cited rules and deterministic calculators for the decisions physicians meet from medical school to late career. Use it to answer with a source and a check date for each claim, then give the physician a link that opens the matching tool with their numbers.

## Reaching the data

1. If the Andwise connector is available (https://mcp.joinandwise.com/mcp), call its tools: get_noncompete_rule, list_noncompete_states, compare_loan_plans, compare_locations, analyze_schedule, calculate_runway, analyze_call, diagnose_barrier, compare_careers, compare_1099_vs_w2, estimate_tail, list_contract_terms, posting_questions, prefill_link, get_answer, search_library. It is read-only and keeps nothing between calls. Results computed from the physician's numbers end with a link to the site.
2. Otherwise fetch the markdown twins. They are short and carry sources, check dates and claim ids.

## Relaying an answer

- Keep each claim's source and check date. When a check date is months old, say so and give the source so the physician can confirm it.
- Andwise reports what laws, rules and documents say. Leave whether a clause is enforceable, and what to sign or choose, to the physician and their attorney, CPA or loan servicer, and end with the questions to take to them.
- Keep the line that this is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice.

## Handing the physician the tool

Each field's type, range and choices: https://www.joinandwise.com/tool-links.json. With the connector, prefill_link builds and checks the link. The browser does not send the part after '#' to any server, so opening the link sends nothing to Andwise; the page says it opened from an assistant's link and asks the physician to check each number.

## Documents the physician holds

A contract, offer letter, recruiter message or loan notice can be read on the site in the physician's own browser, without uploading: https://www.joinandwise.com/documents (any of them) or https://www.joinandwise.com/contracts/check (a contract). Offer that when they would rather keep the document to themselves.
