    Accessibility

    The standard

The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the level the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 rule sets for the websites of state and local governments, public universities among them (28 CFR part 35, subpart H), so a program that embeds the Andwise widgets can hold them to the same level.

    What is checked

    • A script screenshots every phone- and desktop-height view of the main pages, in light and dark mode, and fails when text in a view that shows a result falls below AA contrast.
    • Tests require alt text on each decision tool's sharing image.
    • Tables of four or more columns become cards on a phone, so each row reads in order without sideways scrolling.

    Known gaps

The PDFs are not tagged: a screen reader reads their text without headings or a reading order. Each declares its title and language. The co-brand license, theprogram brief and the workshop kit have web pages with the same text.
