    Frequently asked questions

    What is Andwise today?

We publish free decision tools and reference data for physicians, alongside an educational library from 2022–2024. There is no account, membership or paywall, and the tools run entirely in your browser.

Does the contract checker upload my contract?

No. Your browser reads the PDF on your device, and the page makes no network request with your file. The file and its text are discarded when you close the tab. The exit terms the checker finds, such as a clawback amount or a non-compete radius, stay in this browser's local storage so the other tools can reuse them; the privacy page explains how to clear them.

Is this legal or financial advice?

No. The tools quote your document, compare it with published law or benchmarks, and list questions to ask. Whether a clause is enforceable, or which loan plan fits you, depends on facts only you and a licensed professional can weigh.

How current is the state non-compete information?

Each state shows the statute or source it comes from and the date someone last read it. Every week a script compares the cited sources with the wording a person last reviewed and sends any change to a person. We re-read the state law itself monthly from January through July, when most legislatures meet, and quarterly the rest of the year; that is when the dates move. A law can change between readings, so confirm with the statute or an attorney in your state before relying on an entry.

What happens when an entry is wrong?

We correct it, date the correction and record it in the change log at /contracts/noncompete/changes, rather than quietly editing the page. On October 21, 2026, the day the state table went up, we found it had missed Vermont's Act 177 and fixed the entry the same day.

Why do some articles carry a notice about student loans?

Federal student-loan rules changed after they were written: the SAVE plan closed, the Repayment Assistance Plan opened on July 1, 2026, and new graduate borrowing is capped. The notice links to current sources.

Can I still book a session with a planner or attorney?

No. The planner and attorney sessions ended in 2024, when the Andwise membership closed. The articles, recorded webinars and open contract guide from that time are still free in the library.
