Graduation exit checklist
One page for the offboarding packet. It names what to read in an offer, links the free tool for each item, and leaves every judgment to the graduate and their attorney.
For the program
Print this page or link it from your offboarding packet and exit interviews. Nothing is collected, no account is needed, and every tool runs in the graduate's browser — there is no advisory service here for counsel to review, because the site sells nothing and takes no money from lenders, insurers, recruiters or employers. The compliance one-pager is at for programs.
The checklist
- Read the whole offer and contract, and note the page each term lives on.The contract checker extracts clauses with page numbers, on the device, and the file never leaves the browser.
- Non-compete: find the radius, duration and any buyout in the contract. Then read your state's rule — the statute text, its citation and the date it was last checked — on the state non-compete pages.
- Tail coverage: find who pays malpractice tail if you leave, and when. The tail coverage reference explains the terms by specialty.
- Notice and termination: how much notice each side requires, and what leaving early costs. The checker highlights the termination and notice clauses.
- Signing bonus and clawback: the repayment terms and the years they cover. The checker extracts the repayment language with its source line.
- Call, moonlighting and scheduling: what the language actually commits you to.The checker lists call and schedule obligations it finds.
- Loans: check your repayment plan against the current federal rules. The loan comparison covers the plans in force and the rules are open data.
- Employer type: nonprofit or for-profit, and whether it is PSLF-qualifying.Ask the employer to state it in writing; the loan comparison shows what follows from each answer.
- Disability and benefits: what employer-paid coverage replaces, and its definition of disability. The disability comparison runs the numbers on two quotes side by side.
- More than one offer? Run each through the sameoffer comparison, then use the anonymous comparison card to discuss the numbers with a mentor without naming employers.
- Write down the questions each item raised, then take them to an attorney licensed in your state. The tools end in questions; so does this checklist.
